Dumpling Festival

Local people, learning of his suicide, rushed out in their fishing boats to the middle of the river and desperately tried to save him, but were unsuccessful. In order to keep fish and evil spirits away from his body, they beat drums and splashed the water with their paddles. They threw rice into the water as a food offering to Qu Yuan and to distract the fish away from his body. However, late one night, the spirit of Qu Yuan appeared before his friends and told them that the rice meant for him was being intercepted by a huge river dragon. He asked his friends to wrap their rice into three-cornered silk packages to ward off the dragon. These packages became a traditional food known as zongzi, although the lumps of rice are now wrapped in bamboo leaves instead of silk. The act of racing to search for his body in boats gradually became the cultural tradition of dragon boat racing, which is held on the anniversary of his death every year.

Today, people still eat rice dumplings and participate in dragon boat races to commemorate Qu Yuan's sacrifice on the Duan Wu festival, the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese lunar calendar. This year (2006) it is 31/5 in the solar calendar.

People nowadays will not throw dumplings into river anymore. Such a waste to throw the tasty dumplings into river, besides this will cause river pollutions too *wink*
Even the Dragon Boat Race is not so popular anymore. I remember when I were small, parents used to bring me to Kuching Waterfront there to watch Dragon Boat Race. Everywhere people talked about the boat racing. Well, didn't go to Waterfront there to see whether there is such event going on or not... maybe there is?

Well for me, Dragon Boat Festival means:

1. Eat dumplings. There is 2 kinds of dumplings, the 'normal' dumplings and the small small dumpling, which I don't know what it is called. Ohya, there is another type - Vegetarian Dumpling. Haha. Hmm, dumpling is not cheap nowaday, cost about Rm1.50-Rm2.20 per piece.

Dumplings, just normal dumplings.

Dumplings (smaller version), erm they call what 'kee tzang'.

2. Bath Dragon-Mouth-Water (龙口水) at 1100. Haha. Mom says long long time ago, people believe on 1100, the water is somehow purified by the Dragon's Whiskers *blink*

3. Put "hia3" (in Teochew, no idea whats that called in English and Chinese.) on head. Erm, its a kind of herb actually.

My aunt and the herb.

My grandma. Hehe, see the herb on her ears?

4. Drink herbal tea, or my grandma like to call it "cool-water" (凉水). It is made of few kinds of herbs, boiled together for a few hours, whole morning, I guess. Haha.

A cup of this?

-----

Ingrediants of the cool-water. Erm, don't know the names of the herbs in English. Hehe

-----

Hmm, what Dragon Boat Festival (or 端午节 in Chinese) means to you?

Three Hand Baby

A 59 days new born Shang Hai baby is different from other babies, he has an extra hand. The doctor is examining the baby, whether there is a need to operate and remove the third hand. (AP Photos).

Adapted from Sin Chew Daily-International Edition (星洲日报-国际版;第10版)

Awh. Poor baby. Hope there is no need to remove the third hand.

Sometimes, we just need to be thankful to God that we were born in complete form. Just cherish what and who we are... live on what we think is correct and do no harms to others, and never easily influenced by others...

Dr Tran

hehe. This is funny.

New Header

Changed my blog header. Thought of creating a flash header at first, but after finish design the flash, then only I find out that I have no place to host the 400KB .swf file. So in the end, I got no choice but to convert it to graphic format - .png and upload it to my.opera.com. Notice the "ra" letters in the "Fragment" word? Its a bit "out of shape" because of the ripple effect of the flash file. Lazy to design again using CorelDRAW, so just export straight away from the flash file. Hehe.

Erm, any comments? Hehe. Just tell me if its terrible. Maybe I'll ask TheAngel to design a nice nice one for me. She is very good in designing. Hehe.

Today

0810 - Woke up after 'forced' by mommy. Hehe. Or else I do not think I'll get up by myself.

0930 - Went 一园 to get Incentive from Wu Clan Association. Haha, thought we are late already. But by the time we reach there, the Annual Meeting and Incentives Giving Ceremony have not start yet. The Annual Meeting went on smoothly, because the members (and audience) did not give responses to what the Committee Members said.

1117 - The incentives giving ceremony started. There are a total of 54 person awarded the incentive. I'm the second last person to receive because I'm in STPM category, the highest category that can apply for this incentive. Buffet lunch was served after that.
Me and mommy.

1230 - Took a short nap when back at home. Tired. Hehe.

1400 - Helped daddy to dig up the bricks in the garden in front of my house. The bricks then loaded onto the small lorry to bring to the new house there.

Hehe, found a square tapioca when clearing the bushes of cassava. The root squeeze thru the bricks so the shape become like that. Haha. The shape is really unique for sure - cuboid.
The cuboid tapioca

Collecting things can be a hobby. It can also become a mark, a reminder, that let you recall fragment of memories, which can be joyful or even sad to you.

Some things can be kept, and some cannot. A well, for example, how are you going to keep it? Certainly you can't. These kind of things, we can only keep it in our heart, in our memory, and carry with us for life.

Reformating Nokia 3230

You can re-format the phone using either tricks:

The Three-Keys Boot Method:

Turn off the phone
Press and hold [*] [3] [Green Button] simultaneously while you,
Turn on the Phone

The *#7370# Method (Deep Reset*):

Turn on the phone
Key in *#7370#
Enter the Security Code when prompted (the default Security Code is 12345)
Caveat: Make sure the battery is at nearly full charge (or do it while charging the phone.) A discharged battery while formatting the phone will lead to unpredictable results.

After formatting, the phone will revert to default settings including a freshly installed Symbian OS. You will lose all your data so back them up first.

* You can key in *#7780# to perform a Normal Reset. The Normal Reset will restore files from the ROM but keeps user data (your pics, sms in the Inbox, 3rd party software etc) intact.

Finally, found this topic at http://www.carareok.com/bluemint/index.php/pdate/2005/12/18/. Been looking for guides on how-to-reformat-Nokia3230 for quite some time already.

p/s: LiangWee... problem solved eh? haha

Gathering at Hui Sing

Who was there:
Arthur
Bing Han
Chio Pang
Chun Phin
Horng Rong
Kyle Lee
Yu Xuan

Picked up my little brother from school around 1830 and YuXuan from 3E around 1930. Then, quickly, I prepare myself to go out with ZeGanG. Around 2005, HorngRong reached. Then we went YuXuan's house to pick him up and set off to Hui Sing.

Only 3 of us there at first. Sitting somewhere in front of the drinks & beverages stall, 3 of us ordered the same drink - White Lady, which cost Rm1.20. Not long after that, Arthur and ChioPang, who has just finished his final today, reached. ChioPang shared with us his school life, how much he enjoyed himself when doing his latest school project. Haha, he was so excited when updating us with his project lately. Everyone required to choose different topic from the list given and he was the first person to choose. He like the topic he choosed vey much. He did a lot of research and preparation on that topic for quite some time already. So, you can imagine his feeling when he got that topic. Haha. Well, about his exam, he keep on 'showing off' to us how easy (or rather... L U C K Y) for him to score in his exam. Some, S O M E, of his teacher will to give them 'tips' during exam, and this is what he consider "lucky" of. If u finish quickly, u can ask for 'hints' for the teacher, whether u answer the questions correctly or not. Haha. So good. Bbut of course, you must be well prepared and finish the paper quickly, he added.

*jeng3 jeng1 jeng1*

Around 2130, I suppose, ChunPhin and Kyle (and Kyle?) pass by and HCP saw us. Haha, did not expect to meet HCP here, especially with Kyle. What a coincidence. Haha. But, I thought he work until 2200-2300? Hmm. Anyway, our topic before they came was laptop price. AhPang says his mother has agreed to buy him a laptop. His budget is around Rm2000. Well I think it is better to get ready Rm3000 to buy a laptop. You can only buy Intel Celeron with Rm2000 budget, while you can buy Intel Centrino with Rm3000, which is far better in terms of power saving as well as the productivity, other words, more value.

Mom called me to pick her up around 2205. So, I asked HorngRong to send me home. Haha. All of them leave after we left.

NUS Form A Delivered

After I collected my passport from the Immigration Department this morning, around 1000, I filled up my NUS Form A (Acceptance Letter).

Around 1500, I went Sarawak Plaza to meet up Lawrence. He is working at a watch shop at there. I took his Form A (together with Rm19) and help him deliver using DHL, which cost Rm41.30. Hehe, we post together, which means the Rm41.30 is shared by 2 of us and each person pay around Rm21. but since I told Lawrence its Rm37.50, so the extra money I have to pay with my own money. Mistaken West Malaysia Rate, which is RM37.50 with Singapore, Rm41.30.

Hmm, anyway, GOOD! Settled another thing.

ZeGanG at Da Vinci Code, STAR

ZeGanG at Star Cineplex

Who was there:
Angelina
Arthur
Bing Han
Chang Dick
Horng Rong
Liang Wee
Matthew
Yoong Lin
Yu Xuan

Went Star Cineplex to watch Da Vinci Code with friends just now.
It's a good movie actually. Full of mystery, puzzles and 'extraordinary' explainations for Da Vinci's work.

Just do not understand why 'people' want this movie to be banned? It is just a story, fiction story, written by Dan Brown. Why cant they just enjoy it as a 'normal' movie, entertainment-ONLY purpose movie?

Anyway, the movie is quite 'rush' near the ending. Too fast that I don't even have time to 'digest' and follow-up the story. Maybe I should read the book first before going cinema to watch this movie. Haha, bet it is going to take me weeks to finish the book with my current English standard. Haha.

I would rate it

Passport

'The Making of Passport'

Well, went Government Office at Simpang Tiga there to do my passport this morning, around 0930. Bought a passport application form from the lady at the service counter with RM1. Then I saw a notice (sticked beside the counter) saying that there is 'half-price-offer' for students in oversea Universities. So, I ask the lady again, then she told me that I need to bring my Uni acceptance letter to apply for that. So, I quickly went home prepare all the documents needed and rush back. Its around 1000 when I came back to the information counter to ask for waiting number. But the lady told me that the number has finished. In other word, they fixed a certain amount, lets say around 100 people, to process in the morning. When the maximum number reached, they would not accept anymore applications. HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT?

Anyway, I came back in the afternoon. The counters only start operate at 1400. But people started to queue up around 1300 I suppost. When I reached (around 1330) people already queued until the entrance there! Finally, I got my waiting number around 1415. I sat down and waited...

for so loooooonnnggg, and its still not my turn yet...

Around 1520, finally, the machine called my number: "satu satu dua sembilan, kaunter 4". The lady at counter 4 was not friendly at all. Her face was so busuk when she look thru my documents. Then she started to ask sorts of questions... what makes me angry is that, she told me to come back to apply for my passport in July (When school starts) when I told her that I don't have the payment receipt for the fees yet. Duh! I just want to apply PASSPORT to go Singapore, how can I get the tuition fees payment receipt when I have not been there. Anyway, after I explain to her, and she discuss with her superior. Then only she processes my documents. After that, she ask me to sit down and wait for the call form next counter.

Theres more discussions...

Around 1550, I was called to counter 5. Then the officer ask me the same question AGAIN. Then, I have to explain all over for another time. Then, she said: "Cannot, cannot... we do not accept the offer letter.... blah blah blah ... All we want is the tuition fees receipt from your Uni..." Then she ask the officer at the counter just now about the 'payment receipt' thing... After discussed for another few minutes, then the lady at counter 4 went to see her superior and discussed with her (It a 'she') AGAIN... Its already 1610 when 'officially', she finished keyed in my data into computer... then she told me:

Counter 6 (for payment) is closed already. Come back tomorrow.

OMG! No choice but to come back tomorrow again?

Chang Dick
Horng Rong
Liang Wee
Yoong Lin
Yu Xuan

HorngRong came and picked me and YuXuan up around 2000. We went Memories Cafe, BDC after that. haha... at first we can't find the signboard of the cafe - 'Memories Cafe'. We turned 2 rounds before YuXuan notice that the signboard written 万利来 is actually the cafe's chinese name =.='

Anyway, I ordered a cup Lemon Barley, which cost Rm2.50. pokai lor... no more extra money to spend, so have to order things that are pi1 =p

YoongLin, LiangWee and ChangDick who followed Arthur reached not long after that.

Talked lots of things (that I couldn't even remember now =p) from handphone & handphone's programs and media files... to... pat4 gua4 =p haha...
Memories Cafe close at 2200. So, we have no choice but to move to other places. At first, we stand outside (near the cafe) to continue our 'discussions'... but after a while, YoongLin wanted to eat, so we moved to Point One. hehe, our topic there includes Lee Hom's embarrassing moments during the Golden Song Awards, our favourite songs in the past... etc... etc... and the last topic before we pit3...

Real life GHOST STORIES...!?!

LiangWee described how terrifying the cupboard-door-automatically-openned when he and his family went for a trip last time... but... It wasn't that scary... =p haha

Then... YuXuan tell us his childhood experiences... how and when he saw the 'icy-blue' leg in his bathroom when he was small...(you would not wan't me to continue the 'details' of the story, do you?)... Its still scare us to death though we had listen to the SAME story many times...

Around 1145, we went home after bei3 tahan with YuXuan who was still so 'moved' to tell us the stories (there are other stories beside the 'leg')... In fact, he still continue along the way to car...

*oh! man~~~*

-----

In fact, a lot of 'fresh' topics today ;) enjoyed myself though I'm very tired and unable to concentrate after came out from Memories Cafe

20060516

Departed from home at 1145. After picked up HorngRong and YuXuan, I thought daddy was going to send us to Chong Lin, but who knows he wanted us to go bank with him fist! So we ended up only arrive at Chong Lin Plaza around 1240. We suppost to get there at 1200 and depart at 1230.

Anyway, the whole journey to Gunung Gading, Lundu is about 1 hour 20 minutes. The 'formation' in the van-sapu was

First Row: WeiLoong, PuiWen, WaiLeng, Connie
Second Row: ChangDick, YuXuan, Horng Rong
Last Row: Matthew, YoongLin, BingHan

Along the way, Matthew, YoongLin, and ME (those at last row) was quite quiet. Hehe... YoongLin and I was taking short nap along the way. Those at second row was listening to mp3s along the way. ChangDick and YuXuan with their new walkman-phone, SE K750i and SE W800i while HorngRong with his mini mp3 player. Those at first row, except WeiLoong who was listening to songs with his Nokia N70, was playing the "Rock and Scissor - 男生女生配". Do not really know the exact words for the name of that game. Haha, as usual, we can hear Connie's voice LOUD & CLEAR along the way. Maybe it is because of the high-frequency voice that makes her voice so 'outstanding' among others.

We arrived at Gunung Gading National Park around 1410. The driver left after we pay the fare for both today and tommorow, which is Rm300. Then, WaiLeng, YoongLin, YuXuan and ME went for a walk around the river-and-pond at the back of the chalet while waiting for the others to book for chalet. Hehe, we have to 'hide' ourselves this way to avoid trouble because the maximum person allowed to stay in a chalet is 6 person. Hehe, no choice but because we all wanted to save budget. Hehe.

The chalet they gave us was the first one, the nearest to the entrance. There is no other place left because the other chalet, even the "long-house" was fully booked.

We moved on to our Waterfall No.7 journey immediatly after everyone put their belongings in respective rooms. Haha, everyone was so excited to go to the waterfall there. Wasted some time becasue we followed the wrong path that lead us back to the river-and-pond area behind the chalets. Haha, we got no choice but to 'restart' our 'mission'.

We walk, walk, and walk...

Finally we reached our destination, Waterfall no.7 around 1700. Quite late already eh? Haha. Everyone crossed over to the waterfall area except PuiWen. Wow, feels very refreshed after get myself into the water. The feeling of sitting under the waterfall and get hit by the falling water? PRICELESS! Haha. But, the water was very cold for sure.

Around 1730, we went back to Chalet. A lot of things happened along the way back.
Matt's leg cramp, WaiLeng fall down and hurt her leg lightly and we followed the wrong way. Haha. But it is only a while before we realize there is no path ahead, a dead end. We reached the 'entrance to the forest' around 1830. All of us sit at the bench there to rest and chit-chat. At that time, ChunPhin called me. I think he wanted to call me out for a drink, but after heard that we are at Gading, he ended his call in a very short way.

After bath, we gathered at the living room, watching Connie's favourite movie, where"YoongLin's brother" - 王喜 is one of the main character. Haha. Actually it was the final episode. So, it is a must for her to watch.

Night Activity - BBQ!

About 2015, we start preparing for BBQ. Dick and I try to heat the charcoal using the gas stove in the kitchen. Connie and WaiLeng marinate the chickens for BBQ. The others take care of the fire pit and start BBQ the chicken. Haha. Enjoyed myself heating up the charcoal. WeiLoong and PuiWen prepare pasta for us to fill our stomach while waiting for the chicken to ready. The pasta was very TASTY! Just that the paste are not enough for us to have second round. Haha. Everyone wanted another round.

What happened during BBQ
  • Connie trying control the fire with her 泼水 skills from the waterfall there

  • PuiWen and WeiLoong started their "Mashimaro (Marshmellow) peng" business, which got everyone queued up for order

  • Everyone try to guess Jiing Haur's "secret angel", but failed. We assume is Esther in the end. Haha.

  • WaiLeng's plastic plate was broken because we used it to fan the fire and 'someone' fan it so hard until it cracked.

  • ChangDick was appointed as the chicken wing "quality control officer"

Around 2230, finally we got all our 44 pieces of chicken wings "peng"ed. Nice, the chicken wings are very tasty! Maybe bacause all of us was very very hungry that time. Haha. Everyone was given 4 pieces of chicken wings. And the extra 4 pieces of chicken wings, we "gamble" to decide who can have it. Hehe. It is just a simple pick-the-highest-number game. Matthew shuffled the deck and each of us drawed one card for each round. The person with the highest number will be the winnner.

Winner:
First round: YuXuan
Second round: YuXuan
Third round: Matthew

*Note: YuXuan win Matt by 1 'rank' (the rank of the card, not sure whether it is call 'rank' or not. Haha.) for the first and second round. So weird, they always got the highest number, just that, YuXuan got 1 rank higher than Matt. haha. While in the third round, finally, Matthew won.

20060517

- Its ShuAi's Birthday!

At 0000 sharp, everyone messaged ShuAi to wish her "Happy Birthday". Hehe, we 'compete' to see whos' message got to her first and who she replies to first. My message were the last one to reach. How sad.

SMS Contest Ranking (Reply from ShuAi)
1st: YoongLin (0026)
2nd: Matthew
3rd: ChangDick
4th: HorngRong
5th: PuiWen
6th: YuXuan
7th: Connie
8th: WaiLeng

*Note: WeiLoong did not join. He become the official time-keeper for our contest.
Project M17

I called her around 0015. Only talked for 1:13 minutes. Wishes her "Happy Birthday", ask her about the present I sent her... blah blah blah... It seems very noisy at the other side, Birthday Party maybe?

After that, we cleaned the living area and kitchen. The gas stove at kitchen there were very messy with the tiny pieces of charcoal. After that, we play card games, 算命 game. Argh, I don't have the luck to finish even 1 of the game. So no luck. On the contrary, YoongLin, ChangDick, and Matt was very lucky. They finished ALL the game. Haha. It's just a game anyway.

..........

Something happened after that

..........

Woke up around 0830. Everyone still sleeping, except YoongLin who didn't sleep at all. I bathed and quickly rush to the fridge to take my CHOCOALTE MILK out. I like CHOCOLATE! I like MILK! CHOCOLATE + MILK = CHOCOLATE MILK = MY FAVOURITE!

Ohya, just before I went to kitchen, YoongLin told me about a 'shocking' story. He told me that Connie messaged him and tell him:

HELP ME! I'm dying!

I was so shocked at first! What happened? Then only I know she was stung by bee this morning, when she was sleeping. Not very seriuos actually, just that she complained that it was very painful. Haha, we joked with her, "Maybe because of the way you sleep." The way she sleep was very 'unique' that no ordinary person can sleep like the way she did.

Around 1015, we checked out and go to the pond behind the chalets while waiting for the van to come. We played cards and the childish-game Jessica taught us lat time, "Popeye the Sailorman" and "Blerrr~~~". Very Childish but fun.

At 1430 sharp, the driver came. This is it, the end of Gunung Gading Trip!

End of Gunung Gading trip

The driver dropped ME and HorngRong at YuXuan's house. Its better to go down there than go to Chong Lin. Around 1630, HorngRong's sister came and pick us up.

I was very tired that time. Can hardly open my eyes.

Anyway, its a nice trip.
An unforgetable trip for sure!

Picked up Matthew and YuXuan and went Spring Garden, Hui Sing. Reached there around 2040. Everyone (Except Arthur, ChioPang and YoongLin) was there when we reached. I ordered Roasted Lamb Shoulder, which cost Rm14 and Hot Milo Rm2.

Around 2058, Arthur, ChioPang and YoongLin reached, with the chocolate cake for ChangDick and PuiWen's Birthday. Arthur and ChioPang share thier food. After everyone finish their food, the birthday 'party' begins.

Happy Birthday to you~

Then, ChangDick and PuiWen blow the birthday cake together. Eh?!? They didn't make wish first? haha... never mind. Then we enjoy the chocolate cake, CHOCOLATE cake! ;)

hmm... this is my second ProjectM17... The last ProjectM17 was back in 2003, where the cost is much less. I wasn't very satisfied with the result. The card was terrible (Well, I did keep a copy for myself =p).

For me, this ProjectM17 (2006) is much improved than ProjectM17 (2003)...

-----

Some of my friends told me that I shouldn't spend so much for this present. But, I think is 'ok', as long as I cut down budget on other expenses lor... For me, I will rather spend more on 'the one special to me' than myself. Just like what AhPang said, as long as you are happy, satisfied and hua hee (in Teowchew) with what you are doing (refering spending on the present), don't care about what other think. He will do exactly what I did if he is in my situation.

I also agree to what he adds after that. There are 3 types of people:

1. People who spend more on themselves, but spend LITTLE on others...

but... usually people like this-type-of-people...

They, will very happy when this-type-of-people buy things for them...

2. People who spend less and themselves, but spend MORE on others...

but... people do not 'notice' this-type-of-people

Get what I mean? =p haha... Guess this is reality...

ZeGanG at Stapok

Who was there!
Angelina
Arthur
Bing Han
Chang Dick
Connie
Chio Pang
Horng Rong
Liang Wee
Matthew
Yoong Lin

-----

Went Stapok Badminton Court around 0930 this morning. Everyone, except Matthew, was there already. They booked 2 courts. Horng Rong, Arthur, Connie and Angelina in court number 2 while Chio Pang, Yoong Lin, Chang Dick and Liang Wee in court number 3. I watched the game of the 2 people at court number 4 while waiting at the side. Hmm... both of them was equally good. You can tell that they are "somebody" from the way they play, their techniques. Not long after that, Matthew came. Haha... both of us watched at the side since there was no other free court for us to play =p

Just before AhPang they all finish their game, Roy and Ian (YES! Roy Tan and Ian Tan, the brothers) came. The put down their badminton bag at the bench at court number 4! Now, things are clear, those 2 people are "somebody"! They are state players if not mistaken.

Hehe, quite satisfied with the last match, where I partner with Yoong Lin against Chio Pang and Arthur. They won the first match, but we manage to drag it into a rubber set after that. Too bad that we lost terribly in the third set, 15-4. Things sure are different with Arthur around - MORE EXCITING! The fist two games was so kin tio, it was neck and neck. AhPang was shouting ridiculously (as usual) and there was a time where he fell down on the floor even though Yoong Lin just served normally to him =.=' haha... thats what make things interesting right ;) At least we really enjoy ourselves there.

-----

I Like Badminton!

-----

We went to the "RM2-Chicken Rice" (This is not the REAL name of the shop, just that everyone, even my Physics teacher - Mr Khoo, refers the shop as that. 两块钱鸡饭... haha... You can't find cheaper Chicken Rice anywhere else. Bet its the cheapest chicken rice in whole country =p haha... Ohya, the rice and the meat is not little because of the price, in fact, the meat is a lot more compare to most the chicken rice at other places.

Went home around 1330.

~~Expenses~~
RM4 - Chicken Rice
RM3.2 - Badminton

WesakDay Special - Parade

Just came back from Wesak Day Parade. ^_^ Well, the parade was F U N, fun! but tiring because the distance is quite long. Can hardly think now, but feels so excited to blog about it. Haha.

-----

Reached Jublee Ground around 1720. But the members of Malaysia Fo Guang Association (Swak) (马来西亚佛光协会砂州分会) haven't reach. So, I go for a walk at the park beside the car park with my brother. It's a new park I guess. Don't remember such a park exist when I came here last time. Anyway, the park is built by 福建公会 (FuJian Association) and its very beautiful and clean.

-----

Around 1830, everyone reached. So we move to the assembly ground and line up there. Everyone was so happy and excited. And there are a lot of people too. Almost the whole field of the stadium was filled with people that are going to walk during the parade.

-----

37th Kuching Scout Band! Saw YuXuan, ChenFook, YenJui, Michael and the other scout friends from 37th there. Sigh, wanted to join them to play Glockenspiel! hehe, I like that instrument though it is played mostly by girls. Most of the members are still the same as last time. (hmm, thinking of going back some other time, kind of fun actually =p)... Anyway, YuXuan play drum this time. I was so shocked when I saw he carry the drum because he used to play Glockenspiel with me last time. And now suddenly change to drum? o.O' haha...

-----

2006 Wesak Day Parade started officially after the speech by Datuk Yap Chin Loi (叶金来) and the firework display. (Datuk Yap was 30 minutes late =.='). 37th Scout Band leads the way, followed by Buddhist Associations and school dharma clubs. GRSS Dharma Club was there too. They wear red shirts.

hmm... I was holding the sign board for FoGuang Association the whole parade. Since I'm standing in front, just behind the float of our group, I 'got the chance' to watch the DVD that describe Fo Guang Shan and Buddhist teaching again and again for 3 hours. @.@... Frankly, I enjoyed myself watching the show at first, but after 2 hours repeating the same movie over and over again, plus the long and tiring journey, I find the show quite annoying =p hehe...

The pictures are very blur because of the nightmode effect.

-----

After 3 hours of walk, around 2230, we were back at Jublee Ground. Everyone was so tired because of the long walk. Those children at the group beside me keep on complaining that the distance was way too far! But, I think they must be really satisfied and proud of themself for completing the parade ;). After all the groups back at the assembly ground, the prize giving ceremony begin. The prizes divided into 4 categories: School, Floats, Associations, and The-Most-Representatives. GRSS won 3rd while FoFuang got 4th in the Most-Representatives category.

Before everyone leaves, there was a 15 minutes firework display. wow, the fireworks were so amazing. I like the one that splash out 'firework-meteors' to all directions when it explodes. The one that produces tiny sparks that fall like dust is equally nice! There is another 'special' one. It did not explode like other fireworks, but it became a fireball that drop slowly from the sky. haha, what a weird one, I never see this kind of firework before =p

-----
It was so difficult to capture the image of the fireworks with my lagged-by-few-seconds Nokia 3230. Maybe I should consider changing a better camera-phone soon =p haha

-----

It was sure a wonderful night that makes me so berkobar-kobar want to blog about =p haha... So tired, it already 0222 now and I should be in bed now since I'm super tired and tomorrow still got ZeGanG Activity - Badminton... hehe...
