Comments:
  • Its a very, very, relaxing trip.
  • Theres nothing much to see in this small fishing village (approx 200 houses, according to the tour guide), but its definitely a good place to enjoy your time with friends.
  • One thing to note is that, the village is not really that clean. So for those over clean-conscious people, this might be an issue.

Food/Snack to note:
  • 菜燕糕。

Things to note:
  • "Pistol fish" at "Kelong" (Fish Farm), very interesting.

20100613 Universal Studio Singapore

Went Universal Studio Singapore (USS) yesterday (June 14) with Aunt Nancy and Aunt Jane's family and cousins.

Overall comments on USS
The musicals and special effects studio are great.
The queues to take photos with characters are short and fast!
a lot attractions still under construction.
most of the queues are 1 hour long. So might want to consider getting express pass.
some of the entrance path to the rides is just too long. Revenge of the Mummy, for example. USS should just build/open-up 'special' path if the queue is not long.

Hollywood
Monster Rock musical - Live musical and dance, with fireworks and effects. Thumbs up! :)

New York
Lights! Camera! Action! - show case example of special effects used in film-making. Good!

Sci-Fi City
Battlestar Galactica roller coaster - looks promising, but still under construction.

Ancient Egypt
Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster - not bad with reverse section and fire effect ; But the entrance path is too long, too dark and confusing. The should either light it up or put up more signs... unless the purpose is to set up a maze in the "piramid" ;)
Treasure Hunters ride - erm.... for kids.

The Lost World
Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure - sits on a 9-person circular raft and tossed on the waterways in Jurassic Park. Great! The 'lucky ones' will get wet at the finale slide. Hehe ;)
Canopy Flyer - waited 50 minutes for a 53 seconds ride. This is for kids!

Far Far Away
Hook's Knight Club - interactive 'live' show starring Donkey. At first I thought its just another screen movie, but turned out that the character actually interacted with audiences in real time, with sense of humour too! :)
Shrek 4-D Adventure - Not very 3D compared to Disneyland Mickey's PhilharMagic.

Madagascar
Too bad the the ride is not open yet at this point of time.

Here are the compiled photo collages of my day at USS :)

Photos of interesting sights.
Photos with favorite cartoon characters.

Haw Par Villa

The signboard of Haw Par Villa at the main entrance.

Went Haw Par Villa at Pasir Panjang Road with Weliam yesterday morning, around 11am.

Haha, amazing, after 4 years staying at Pasir Panjang Road, now only we took the "initiative" to actually pay a visit to the tourist attraction point which is super famous last time. I still remember the last time I go there was back in lower sec, during family trip to Sg. Guess was too young that time, can only remember the name but not the settings of the villa back then. 完全没印象. Haha.
