Stephen Hawking

World-famous physicist Stephen Hawking experienced eight rounds of weightlessness during a better-than-expected airplane flight that he saw as the first step toward a trip in space.

"It was amazing," Hawking told reporters afterward, using his well-known computerized voice. "The zero-G part was wonderful, and the high-G part was no problem. I could have gone on and on.

"Space, here I come."

Chio Pang came to Singapore

AhPang came to Singapore with his mom and brother. This afternoon, Elaine met him up at NUH. Then they gave me a call before I headed over to Elaine's room to meet them.

We went McD at Engineering for lunch, with another friend of Elaine, a girl, quite pretty =p haha. After that, we send AhPang to the terminal behind Eusoff Hall. He suppose to meet his mom and brother at City Hall. Haha, they way they communicate very "interesting" =p All sorts of funny terms (including Teochew) came out during his conversation over the phone =p

Merlion = spit lion (pui nua ei sai - in Teochew)

Haha. Too bad can't bring him around. Exams around the corner, as in first paper on this coming Saturday. >.

Anything

Realize something... a bit childish though =p

Saying "anything" doesn't mean that I don't have own opinion and stand. Just that I don't think it's really necessary for me to voice out my thought.

Sometime, if everyone has their own point of view, it's really difficult to integrate all the ideas together. Someone just have to be "anything" to makes life easier.

Problem can be solved easily if one side can step one step back and "anything" with whatever outcome. There might be no problems at all if everyone can be "anything" in the first place.

MU vs AS ROMA (7-1)

What the hell?!? AS Roma lost to 7 - 1 to MU. I'm not Roma's fan but really pity them. Imagine the humiliation on all the Roma players after that match...

MU is definitely on SUPER top condition during the match, Carrick especially. He scored the first goal and the keeper was just standing there looking at the ball passes thru his head, without doing anything. In the second half, he scored another top-right-corner ball.

SUPERB! All the goals was really amazing, beautiful. All the goals (and Roma's goal) were corner goals. Can't blame both keepers for not being able to save them.

But from the match, I think Roma's defense is very cui and unorganized. They should improve by the next match, or else, there might be another 7-1 lost again...

Good match!

GO Manchester United!

Windows Vista

Yeah! Downloaded and got the license for Microsoft Windows Vista already!
Thanks to SoComputing, NUS. Didn't realize that NUS actually provides (a lot) Microsoft Products and License for students with Unix account for FREE.

Plan to reformat my laptop and install Vista during the coming 3 months holiday! Hehe.

A Block Command 07

A Block Command 07

Can I do without this?

Every dollar I don't spend is a dollar I have earned. So when I think I need something, I ask, "Can I do without this?" [source]
These days I often ask myself this question before buying anything. I find that I 'sacrificed' a lot of things (hmm, "I think"... haha =p) that I wanted to buy since last year after I came over to Singapore. Mostly because of the fact that I can't really get money that easily from parents here, and the challenge I put on myself as to reduce as much expenses as possible.

I am sure if I will not be able to refrain myself from keep on asking money from parents to buy things that caught my eyes if I didn't choose to come here and study back in hometown instead.

Come to think of it, even back in hometown last time, the things that I often spent on are mostly computer gadgets. I find that its a lot easier to hold my temptation to buy foods or any other things except computer accessories. Hehe.

Just find that the temptation to buy things that you like... really scary...

Dance Uncensored

Event: Dance Uncensored
Location: UCC, NUS.
Date: 25 March 2007
Time: 1930-2200

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Went down to UCC in block level around 1900. Dance Uncensored is a collaboration between all the Halls in NUS. Each Hall presented a number of dances, ranging from Hip-hop, Chinese dance, ballet... so on.

Event started off with Kent Ridge's (KR) hip-hop. After that is some 'hot' dance (how to classify that kind of dance? provocative dance?) by KR girls. Then followed by Sheares Hall's (SH) zombie dance. Then King Edward VII's (KE7) cute Korean dance.... hmm... forgot the sequence already...

I like Temasek Hall's (TH) hip-hop. It was very surprising when the 6 dancer wearing "ah beng"-like walk on the stage. But after a few minutes of "ah beng" dance, they suddenly walk to the back and un-tug their shirt and pull down their jeans, transforming into a hip-hop gang! Very surprising (for me). Ha.

As for Eusoff Hall (EH), I like the two of their dances. All of it very ballet-like and graceful. I remember one of the dances is inspired by "the scene when the little girl look into the wardrobe in The Chronicles of Narnia". Ohya, Elaine was one of the EH dancer too. Very easy to spot her as she is tall and thin. =p

Dance Uncensored 2007 was rounded up by KR's dance, which is inspired by the popular anime, Tsubasa Chronicles, by Clamp. I think thats the best performance of the night. The whole dance is very synchronized with the song and it gives people a kind of energetic feeling as the dance moving on gradually.

After the whole event, everyone gathered at the main entrance to cheer for all the dancers who are coming out from the back stage.

(almost forget something... I wonder what was in the mind of the Minister of Health, who was sitting just in front of the stage, during the 'hot' dance and the 'uncensored dance' by KR Dancers? Must be quite a shock eh? Haha ;))

EE2006 D1 Project - Completed

Finally, submitted my circuit for EE2006 - D1-01 Project. It is just a simple circuit to display ISSUE (green led) and DENY (red led) when user request for different types of tickets (binary-inputs generate using a Dip Switch). So relieve after presented it to the tutor at Lab E4-07.

Spent too much time on the circuit actually. From problem solving, design to implementing the circuit. I assembled the circuit three times actually. The second time and third time because my circuit design is not what "suppose to design" and doesn't meet "the supposed requirement". Imagine the frustration of redoing the circuit every time. Each process of reassembling the circuit took about 12 hours. Including both software design and hardware (wiring).

Gald that it is over. TGIO!

Finals coming soon... stress again...

*TGIO = Thank God its over! ;)
