Angel and Mortal

Technorati Tags: , , , ,

The Angel and Mortal box hang at the door outside Level 1 lift

Beside Inter-Block Game (IBG), "Angel and Mortal" is also another 'big' event in KR for the month of August. Seniors in every block will become Angel and a Mortal is assigned to each of them. Angels will send stuff to their own Mortals, and Mortals are required to give things back to their Angels.

This game already started for 2 weeks, and this is the third week. For my block - A Block, we can see different gives placed in the "Angel and Mortal box" outside the lift at Level 1 everyday. There are chocolates, 100 Plus, junk foods, sweets, letters, key chain... and APPLE! Serious, the mortal gave his/her Angel an apple.

Sounds fun eh? But too bad my Angel never send me things... so sad... hmm, let me try to give my Angel a chocolate bar tonight and see whether he/she exist or not. ;)

KRonos in PS!

Technorati Tags: , , , , , , ,

Went Plaza Singapura on Saturday, 19th August with KR RAGGERs. Basically, its just an 'extention' of RAG & FLAG Day. Most of the static display from every Hall and Faculty were diplayed here. And of course, the winning float - KRonos was brought (or 'drived') here.

The presentation starts around 1530. It begins with the dance from other Halls and Faculties. Then end with KRonos's presentation. Then around 1900, there is a second round of presentation.

// After that, we all went Fish Market, Plaza Singapura for dinner!

KR Hall Bash

Technorati Tags: , , , , ,

Went Hall Bash at The Butter Factory yesterday night, around 2100. Hall Bash is something like clubbing. So, yeap! This is my first Clubbing experience!

All A-Blockers gathered around 2030 at the roof top before going The Butter Factory. Then we all walked down to Jalan Pasir Panjang to take taxi. Joseph, Swee King, Zhi Hao and me took the first taxi. Taxi cost S$2 per person.

We reach our destination around 2105. The entry ticket is S$10 and it comes with a drink voucher. Since I don't really know what to order with the voucher, so I followed Swee King and ordered Vodca Redbull.

The first event was Pageant Contest by all blocks. A Block's representatives were Roy and Ri Na. All the contestant cat-walked for a round in formal dress.

Following after that is the performance by KR Dancers.

After that was the "Uh... Ah!" game. Each block sends 2 representatives, male and female. The female were asked to remove the clip from the male's body with her mouth while blindfolded. E-blockers won in this round. A Block's representatives were Chirs and ???.

Then is the second round of the Pageant Contest. All the contestant cat-walked in casual wear in this round.

After the second round of the pageant thing is another short game. This round, Zhi Hao and Charlotte were the A Block representatives. Just like the game before, its another 'simple' game. The female representative has to roll the egg in the long pants of the male representative from bottom to waist level. Zhi Hao and Charlotte won this round!

Then was the last round of the Pegeant Contest. The contestant were asked to pick one of the notes and elaborate as 'creative' as possible whatever the word/phrase or questions in it.

After the Pageant Contest... its DANCING time! Just like in all movies, everyone dance like crazy! But, some can really dance. For example, Li Dan, he went up the small stage to dance, and wow! I must say, he really dance well... Hmm... I tried to 'dance' but failed. In the end, around 12am... I gave up and stand at the side, just like Adrianus.

Went back to hall around 1300. Maybe its midnight already so the fee become slightly expensive - total S$12.

S$10 Entry ticket
S$2 Taxi fee (go)

*~*~*~*

So sickening... hard to bid for General Elective Modules (GEM). Wasted about 200 points when try to bid for GEK1509 in the past few rounds... and this round (3B), I decided to be 'smarter' by putting bids in the less popular subjects like SSS1207, where number of bidders are far lesser than the vacancies... I used 1 points to get that modules... =.='

Luckily I didn't put all my remaining points (about 350) for the GEK1002 Japanese Studies. Or else my points will be totally wasted as the 3B Bidding Result shows that 600 is the minimum bid point...

Oh well, I guess I'll just go for the GEK1509 although the module description says that:

Located within one of the global centres of biodiversity, Singapore is endowed
with a rich natural heritage that is impacted by expanding urbanisation.
Development poses a great challenge to nature conservation and Singapore is an
excellent model to study how a balance can be achieved. Students will be
introduced to the country?s natural heritage, its historical, scientific and
potential economic value. You will have the opportunity to explore important
habitats, and to think critically about the issues of sustainable development
and the nation?s responsibility to posterity and to regional and international
conventions related to biodiversity conservation. Students are expected to
undertake the field trips on their own and at their own time within the
semester; and will be encouraged to 'self-learn'. A special website with
information on the places to visit and their significance serves as a
semi-interactive IT-resource. Suggested trails and what can be observed appear
on the website. The students' independence and experiential learning aspects are
strongly encouraged

Tomorrow there is a Hall Bash at The Butter Factory. Still not sure want to go or not... the entrance fee is S$10. But then, I think I'll go the coming Dinner & Dance (DND) lar... better... but the entrance fee is S$55... swt... see how first...

*~*~*~*

Today's lectures still ok in the morning. But the Mathematics I in the afternoon was bloody sien... the lecturer like only read out the notes, which we can download from the Interactive Virtual Learning Environment (IVLE) website... most people actually sleep in the class, don't worry, I did try my best to stay awake >.< Though I stayed awake, but then I have no idea what-the-hack the lecturer was talking about. My seniors 'advice' me to watch the webcast of other classes in IVLE to 'have better understanding'... ;) Guess this how technology suppose to be 'utilized'...

*~*~*~*

Iter-Block Game (IBG) is coming soon. So before dinner just now, my block (A Block) had a Touchball training session at 1800. Then after the Hall Meeting (starts at 2100), we have Frisbee training session again... then after Frisbee, me and another few more friends plan to go for Road Race training (jogging, easy way to say)... wah... going to be damn tired 2nite... but luckily tomorrow can wake up late a bit since my lecture starts at 1000. Then, afternoon still can continue sleep since there is no class. ^_^ Hehe...

Guess thats all... need to go Hall Meeting now... sien~~~ =p haha...

KR Dating Game 06/07

Technorati Tags: , , , , , ,

Yeah, I've got my date for Formal Dinner on 14th August, which is tomorrow! Her name is Wei Man. Hehe. Formal Dinner is a tradition in KR. All the juniors must "do something" to impress their target (Seniors from different block) so they will agree to be their partner.

I wrote a poem, with the help of a senior from USA (he is on exchange programme). Then I divide the poem into 4 parts and give to her one by one. I gave her a small gift when I pass each part of the poem to her. But of course, the gifts are according to the contain of the poem lar...
>> For the first part, I gave her a box of heart shape paper cuttings.
>> Second part, I attached a poster of X Japan which I printed out from internet, along with a X Japan logo pasted at the back of the poster.
>> The third part, I gave her a box of chocolates... (all my chocolate savings for the coming 2 weeks... >.<) >> The last part... I gave a a bookmark with a "lilac-like" decoration inside...
>>> Additional part (not the poem, but still a part of the puzzle), with the word "Will you be my date", I gave her a bouquet of roses which I made from cloths...

Haha, with the "help" of RAGGERs, shouting "SAY YES! SAY YES!", she agreed when I "proposed" to her on the morning (around 0530) of 7th August.

A bit of information about my date, Wei Man. She is in the Costume Department of KR RAG. She is 20 this year. She likes gothic stuff, animes, rock bands, purple colour... (and all other weird-weird stuff =p haha)

Below is the Poem. It is a bit funny because its based on what Wei Man likes.

Though Nature’s bloom is in Summer’s rays
My love for you is filled with Spring’s blessings.
Lasting hearts wear the plumage of cosplay:
Noble Bishojo in warrior’s dressing.
Defend the Bishonen goddess’s joy.
You shall be the melodious idol
And I will be the groveling fanboy.
Like X Japan, rock out suicidal.
I will be the Pata to your Toshi;
The stoic Tifa to your fearless Cloud.
Send you Bonbons, chocolates, and sushi
Make my affections outrival the crowd.
All hope hangs on you accepting this oath;
Let my love be the soil for lilacs’ growth

*~*~*~*

Guess thats all. Tomorrow Semester 1 offcially starts... and Formal Dinner and Star To Burst are on tomorrow too... can't wait! But need to do shopping for cloths later in the afternoon... sien~!

Haha! Hall life is F U N~!

The last time Kent Ridge won the Chancellor Shield was in year 2000. Wow, not bad eh? My first year in KR, and the CShield back into KR's hand.

The theme for this year's RAG Day is "Sketches of the past, Potraits of the future".

Hmm, the RAGGERs have been working really hard for the past few months to produce KR's Champion Float - Kronos! Kronos is a time-travel train. All the parts (front, body and carriage) can be opened. There is a pair of hidden wing in the body of the train, so when the cylinder (body) of the train open.... wuuaaalah! The wings spread.... and the crowds cheered as they amazed by the mechanism... and I suppose this is what makes Kronos the Best Float this year!
