Induction
If asked why we believe the sun will rise tomorrow, we shall naturally answer, “Because it has always risen every day.” We have a firm belief that it will rise in the future, because it has risen in the past.

Ketua Bahagian Titiwangsa UMNO (Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani): Kita tidak perlu undi Cina dan India
Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani: We don't need Chinese and Indians' votes
Haha, funny facts from his speech. Obviously, he didn't do his homework before giving this kind of speech. Simple maths will cause him to lose his place in the parliament.
According to him, he just need 70% of the Malays in his area to vote for him.
70% of 32,000 Malays = 22,400 (Malays that he needed to vote for BN)
30% of 32,000 Malays = 9,600 (Malays not needed to vote for BN)
11,500 Chinese (votes that he doesn't even care about),
5,500 Indian (votes that he doesn't even care about)
Total votes NOT for BN = 9,600 + 11,500 + 5,500= 26,600 (more than 22,400)
Fail. =.='

Fake Microsoft Security Essentials software on the loose. Don’t be fooled by it!
Saw this on Twitter and think its important to share with all of you out there.
Just a few comments on Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE).
MSE is by far the best anti-virus that I know so far.
So, if you have genuine Windows, and haven't installed MSE. I would encourage you to install :)
References:
This fake software shows up as a hotfix.exe or as an mstsc.exe file. Additionally, after report it cannot clean the claimed malware infection, it offers to install additional antimalware rogues (with names such as AntiSpySafeguard, Major Defense Kit, Peak Protection, Pest Detector and Red Cross). Lastly, this fake program will try to scare you into purchasing a product.
This software is a fake. Do not be fooled by this scam. Microsoft Security Essentials can be downloaded and used at no cost from http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/.

- It uses significantly less CPU resource. My last anti-virus was AVG. My laptop fan will run at full speed after 5 minutes. But with MSE, I never had this problem.
- Its one of the few safest antivirus (that does not affected by kernel hook attack).
- Passed Virus Bulletin test - August 09 and October 09, while AntiVir, Symantec, Kingsoft... and others failed.
So, if you have genuine Windows, and haven't installed MSE. I would encourage you to install :)

Paintball
Saw these paintball photos from Kelvin Fok's FB album, makes me wana go paintball some day. But probably not in Sg, so expensive - $50, compare to RM50 in JB. Haha.
The photos are well taken. The compositions, angles are just nice. The story that each photo is trying to convey is very clear.
Personally, I like the second photo the most :)
Notes:

[Samsung Omnia 2] -with- 21916/21682 | Sense 2.5 2018 / Titanium / Cookie 2.0
Its been quite some time since the last time I flashed my Omnia 2. Thought of flashing it today because there are just quite a number of small problem with the ROM (by Modaco Kuanchai) last time.
So, thought of sharing it here.
This rom is by Modaco member NRGZ28.
There are several designs, with my personal preference on the UI design:
The are 2 builds for the ROMs:

- Energy - preferred
- Dinik - too glassy
- .sencity - preferred
- Touch of Glass - too glassy
- GTX - bright display, drain battery faster?
The are 2 builds for the ROMs:
- 21916 - The most stable build, with start menu on top left.
- 21682 - The latest build in Windows Mobile development. The start menu is at bottom left, with big finger-friendly softkeys. Most people would choose this.

PSI level
The higher the PSI, the more the pee sai.
Its very obvious that the PSI has gotten worse today compared to yesterday, or even this morning, but the PSI level shown at the NEA site still show the same reading, or more kua zhang, lower reading...
Oh, btw, now, the server is unaccessible. Overloaded I guess. NEA should expect this and use better server (in terms of bigger burst bandwidth), because everyone will only access the site during "crisis".

idea - HTC Desire HD
I like these functions:
- auto-volume-up for ringtone when in bag.
- turn-phone-over-for-busy when calls come in.
- offline map.
- map stays on with mini call screen.
- helicopter navigate to peek at the rest of trip.
- forward calls.
- remote lock phone.
Which Samsung fails to deliver, again... Won't hope for any fancy function from 'em. Just hope they fix up the basics:
- fix GPS in Enclair,
- fix the Android market not in Froyo update...

Facebook for China
How can you connect the whole world if you leave out 1.6 billion people?
- Mark Zuckerberg
Saw another friend commented about this - Zuckerberg's strategy for China.
Well, I think both Google and Facebook has the potential to go into China's market, unless China starts to improve on the censorship and website quality (in terms of originality and service coverage).
Just my random thought, because I realized that most of my China friends are using Google services, and Facebook more often compare to Baidu or 人人网 (ren ren wang).
---
Just thought of some problems that I think most local sites faced.
Limited user domain... the problem
The reason why all the (local) sites, not only Chinese sites, fails in the long run is because their user/data domain is too limited, too localized in other words. With advancement of internet, people wants more info, from around the world.
And with the overloaded information, people just want as few entry points (search engine, or portal) as possible to get them to want they want. This comes to a point, which website should we remember? There are so many web addresses out there...
Some people, like me, choose to remember only the major sites, and combine/integrate other sites into it. For example
- Google - to link me to other sites with "i'm feeling lucky".
- Gmail - to check all other inboxes (Hotmail and Yahoo... got forwarded there), and to video call (replacing msn, and skype)
- Twitter - to communicate with tech friends.
- Facebook - to stay in touch with common friends (who already abandoned Friendster, MySpace...)
Local (small) sites couldn't provide better service... in the long run
Take Gothere.sg for example, not sure how long the site can survive. I find that the service is good, and accurate when it just started few years back. But now, often, I'll double check my result with Google Maps, and most of the times, Google Maps returns better results. Maybe because lack of technology and expertise to further improve on the site?
Another interesting fact to know is that, Youtube wasn't that popular back in 2006. Until Google acquired it and start to "globalize" it. Google sees Youtube as a potential source of advertising revenue; While Youtube sees Google as the source for their expansion - leveraging on their server technology and global reach. The outcome - good user experience makes Youtube a better choice compared to other local "media entertainment" platform.
Conclusion?
This makes me think that, the only way a site (especially local site) can survive, is to evolve rapid enough and not to be held back by geographical-limited user domain, and most important - server technology. If you going to stay at where you are, most likely, your company will be engulfed by other big company.

#newTwitter layout issue in Chrome
Just realize this small problem with newTwitter layout in Chrome.
The scrollbar doesn't expand fully when you click on your list, which makes impossibleto add people to the list item at the bottom of your list, or to click on the "create a list" button at the end.
hmm, look at the screenshot if you don't know what I meant by that :)

Feet Pianist Liu Wei 【China's Got Talent】 - 【中国达人秀】 刘伟
我觉得我的人生中只有两条路:要么赶紧死,要么精彩地活着。没有人规定,钢琴一定要用手弹的。
I believe I have two ways to live my life: Either die quickly , or live to the fullest. There is no rule that says we must play piano with hands.

刘伟在短短的四年学会了钢琴。如果不是失去了双手,可能就不会有今天的达人。
Liu Wei learned piano in just four years. If he didn't lose his hand, he might not be as talented as he is now.
很感人。
Very touching.
我觉得一个人只要能专注,很多不可能的事都能达成。
I think if we can really stay focus, we can achieve many task which we initially think is impossible.
最后,再送大家一句话。
Finally, another quote to all of you.
每个人都要为自己的梦想负责。希望大家可以坚持自己喜欢的事情。
可能有人说我做什么事情都不方便,但是我会告诉我自己:至少我还有一双完美的腿。
Everyone must be responsible for their own dreams. Hope everyone can be persistent in the things they are doing.
Maybe there are people who say that its very inconvenient for me to live my life, but I will tell myself: At least I still have a pair of beautiful legs.

Productivity in Future - Microsoft
Yeap, pretty realistic. A lot of projects similar to whats in the video, for example sixthsense - reading interactive newspaper, boarding ticket that updates on the move, drag and drop to and from desktop to mobile devices, or else from physical object to computer devices...
Just once thing I think is missing from the video, which currently is actively under research by many people - Brain Computer Interface (BCI). One of the demo is here.

Google Latitude
Hehe, just share with you what Google Latitude can do -
I like to keep track of my activities. Well, I don't really care about privacy (Google use for data mining?... nah, doesn't really matter to :] ) What really important to me is that I want to be able to track, or keep a record of my activities.
Well this reminds me of a talk that I went to at Tertiary Tech Conference (TTC). One of the speaker actually set up webcam in front of his desk 24/7 to let the whole world watch him while he is doing his research paper. His idea is to let the whole world know that he is doing his work, and thus prevents himself from slacking.
Oh, another this that I share with people - my workout records. I track my workout history, via endomondo. Ah, quite sometime already since my last run. Sometimes lazy to bring my phone out with me to record then runs. But what I like is the "burn-out" events in endomondo, and how I can view my friend's workout, and... compare my stats with them... haha.
- track the time you spend on work, and
- track the time you spent out.
- Share you public location by embedding badge in your websites.
- Set up location alert to get nearby friends alerts.

Why bother about losing privacy when it increases your productivity.---
