Purpose of Life - Albert Einstein
“Strange is our situation here upon earth. Each of us comes for a short visit, not knowing why, yet sometimes seeming to a divine purpose. From the standpoint of daily life, however, there is one thing we do know: That we are here for the sake of others...for the countless unknown souls with whose fate we are connected by a bond of sympathy. Many times a day, I realize how much my outer and inner life is built upon the labors of people, both living and dead, and how earnestly I must exert myself in order to give in return as much as I have received.”

Back at Home
Back at home on 6th, 9pm. MAS flight from KK-Miri-Kuching.
SABAH TRIP
Sabah trip was very entertaining. Our friend, 永凯, who was tour guide (地陪) did a great job in arranging the transports and itinerary for us. Very very impressed by his dedicated spirit in bringing us around. Only later we found out that he started prepare for our trip back in August. He even visited the places before hand to ensure that he is familiar with the routes.
Will post the photos + write-up some time later when I go back Singapore. :)
HOME
Somehow, just don't feel like online at home. Just want to nua~ Haha. Not nua lar actually, helping around at home, follow parents out.
Help daddy to clean up the garden for the past two days. And helped tidy up my little brother's very messy room.
Maybe partly due to the fact that I didn't bring my own laptop back. Plus, my i9000 bricked (on the first day of Sabah trip) so I couldn't tweet or FB using my phone.
Guess thats all for now.
Can't wait to get the Sabah trip photos from bb (yc) and upload 'em to FB and picasa. ;)

Google Cheque finally cashed in
Almost forgot that I've deposited my Google Cheque that I received > 1 month ago. Until today when I saw the weird looking S$139 statement in my account.
Wah, didn't know it takes this long to process an oversea cheque. On top of that, they actually minus off extra S$ 6.5 + 14, for processing fee I guess.
Which makes my effective "pocket money" of $107 from Adsense to be S$110 only.
But, nvm, something extra.
Sorry if I sounded so sua-gu, this is the first time I got an oversea cheque.

Edwin Tan Photography
Been lobbying at Cari Chinese Forum Wedding section recently. Saw quite a number of beautiful wedding album by different professional/novice wedding photographers. Of course there are some of 'em which are so so, and some which really cmi (cannot make it). Its not easy to be a professional photographer, not only need to have the skills to take good photos, but also the skills to photoshop the photos after that!
Today, I'm going to share with you
Below are some of his work (that I've taken from his blog). Can visit his blog for more photos if you are hungry for more his work.
Comments:
I think what makes his photos stands out is that he has a lot of idea for the photos. Take the last photos that I screenshot-ed from his blog for example. Its just so childhood fantasy-liked.
Theres another trademark of his - mirror image, which I liked very much too. Can check this album. Most of the photos in this album are mirror image style.
Ah, watching all these photos has made my day.
Found out that he has a Facebook fan page too! And it has more than 10K fans.

From the Creator & Writer for Grey's Anatomy:
"I make stuff up for a living. Remember, it's not real, okay?" |
Haha, everyone knows that. Just that the whole series of GA (Grey's Anatomy) is just so real. As if all the happenings and the way the characters are based on real life situation.
Great series. Highly recommended to watch. (Now is at Season 7 [: )

16th Asian Games - Lee Chong Wee vs Lin Dan
Exciting game. Lee fought hard. I think Lin Dan still at advantage because he manage to anticipate and predict Lee's move, and reacted fast ahead, especially at net.
Still, very proud of Lee.

Samsung Galaxy S i9000 (Singapore) DXJPA (Froyo) ROM is out!
Yeap! For all Southeast Asia Galaxy S users, upgrade your firmware to Android 2.2 Froyo now! :)
Before you upgrade,
- Backup all your important data, e.g. Contacts, Memo, although your data will stay intact with Kies upgrade. Just precaution.
This is what you can do to upgrade to Froyo using Kies:
- (Important!) If you installed any Lag fix before, e.g. "OneClickLagFix 2+", undo them.
- (Optional) Get the 3 buttons DOWNLOAD MODE working.
- (Important!) Update to the latest Samsung Kies, refer to my post here.
- Install and run Kies.
- Follow the steps in the Upgrade wizard. The process takes about 5 minutes.
- Done!
If you unsure or whether to upgrade or not, these are the few advantages you'll get:
- (So far) No more lag that you experienced in Eclair 2.1.
- Added "sensor aiding" (to enhance positioning and save power using sensors) in Location settings.
- Basically means better+Faster GPS support compared to Eclair 2.1.
- Able to use Froyo 2.2+ applications.
Chrome-to-phone extension in Google Chrome.(Not available in Sg yet).- updated Gmail App for Froyo 2.2.
Make Windows Load Your Desktop Before You Log In
Saw this video on Youtube. For those of you who thinks your desktop loads very slow, you can try this method save time - let your Windows load while you go do other things.
Pretty useful :)

Crystal 超浪漫求婚
Still very sweet, although it looks like a Samsung advertisement :)
For those who can't tell:
- The girl is using Samsung Galaxy S.
- The guy is using Samsung Galaxy Tab.
The size of Samsung Galaxy Tab is just nice to hold using one hand - 7 inch ; As compared to 10 inch iPad, which is slightly big to hold using one hand.
And... its Android powered! :)
"...we can confidently say it's the best Android tablet on the market." - enGadget.Read more about Galaxy Tab review at enGadget. The review is very throughout.
This is the official video from Samsung.
Nice, maybe will get one when I can afford. hahaha.

Entrepreneurs can change the world
Saw this video at HallwaysGarage and thought of sharing with all of you.
Its true. Most of the time, great ideas are simple ideas that can solve our daily problems; Most of the time, great ideas are our childhood ideas.
Remember a quote from the speaker at Tertiary Tech Conference (TTC) that I went to few months back:
If your idea is not simple, most likely its not a great idea; If your idea cannot be described in a short phrase, most likely it will not work out.
Airport: The Musical Flash Mob
Nice! Hope to see more of these :)
--
Side note:
Flash mob should be performed at open spaces.
Remember I accidentally bump into a flash mob at ION Orchard few weeks back. The mob was at the basement, which is very crowded cramped. Ah, can't even enjoy the performance well. And the performers also can't really dance well because of the people that walks around. Really... FAIL.
Hope that organizers for these kind of events plan ahead, and at least try to simulate/rehearse before the actual thingy.
But still flash mob is a very good idea. I LIKE.

My Secondary School Teacher
after (2010) - before (2001) |
Just realize one of the people in my FB friends request is my secondary school teacher.
Don't why today suddenly decided to look through the photos of the people in my request list. And when I browse through her profile photo, I suddenly saw the old class photos.
No wonder I couldn't recognize her last time, because its so different. Its like totally different person. And she even tattooed!

Labistory - by "Group of 1987"
Part 1
Part 2
Not bad for a video from "Group of 1987" and "Centre of Picture Creation S/B".
Can tell that they went through a lot of detailed planning, before actually start video shooting. And the director/videographers quite experienced also, taken a lot of nice angles during the 2-days shoot.
Saw in the blog that they (Jayz, the producer) actually just started learning video-editing with Premier Pro when editing, quite impressive.
Not bad for '87 "youngsters. Haha. At least they've found their interest, direction. Not easy.
Thumbs up to Jayz and team.

Reminds me of the Big3 Productions, a small Sg startup video production company, founded by a group of friends, but actually gotten a lot of big deal, even from Sentosa.

The next trend - Web on TV
Many, including me, believe that this is the next big thing. Google TV, Apple TV... In fact, I find many of my tech savvy friends already plugged their LCD/LED TV to CPU, and watch movie from harddisk / ppstream.
Maybe its about time the conventional TV channels to join the list of elimination, just like news papers, radio channels...
Find out more about Google TV here.

Wedding Cinematography standard
Saw a friend's photo (and video) coverage on his friend's wedding. Looked through the whole photo album and have this feeling that the photos composure, settings and even focus point of some of the photos are just off.
Hmm, at least, its gives me idea of what kind of photographer (or videographer) I will look for next time ;)
Personally, I like work from Liwei.
One of his latest work.

Saw a couple of bad reviews about this restaurant (here and here) before going there, but didn't expect it to be this bad.
My comments:
- Long serving time. It took more than half an hour before our food is finally served.
- Bad service. There are many stuff around, but they all seems too busy to take our orders. And some of the staff is dedicated to just a table? Thats what I observed.
- A bit overpriced for the food quality and quantity. I would rather go SushiTei.
- Cockroach on food? I wonder how they get class "A" for hygiene.

Induction
If asked why we believe the sun will rise tomorrow, we shall naturally answer, “Because it has always risen every day.” We have a firm belief that it will rise in the future, because it has risen in the past.

Ketua Bahagian Titiwangsa UMNO (Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani): Kita tidak perlu undi Cina dan India
Datuk Johari Abdul Ghani: We don't need Chinese and Indians' votes
Haha, funny facts from his speech. Obviously, he didn't do his homework before giving this kind of speech. Simple maths will cause him to lose his place in the parliament.
According to him, he just need 70% of the Malays in his area to vote for him.
70% of 32,000 Malays = 22,400 (Malays that he needed to vote for BN)
30% of 32,000 Malays = 9,600 (Malays not needed to vote for BN)
11,500 Chinese (votes that he doesn't even care about),
5,500 Indian (votes that he doesn't even care about)
Total votes NOT for BN = 9,600 + 11,500 + 5,500= 26,600 (more than 22,400)
Fail. =.='

Fake Microsoft Security Essentials software on the loose. Don’t be fooled by it!
Saw this on Twitter and think its important to share with all of you out there.
Just a few comments on Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE).
MSE is by far the best anti-virus that I know so far.
So, if you have genuine Windows, and haven't installed MSE. I would encourage you to install :)
References:
This fake software shows up as a hotfix.exe or as an mstsc.exe file. Additionally, after report it cannot clean the claimed malware infection, it offers to install additional antimalware rogues (with names such as AntiSpySafeguard, Major Defense Kit, Peak Protection, Pest Detector and Red Cross). Lastly, this fake program will try to scare you into purchasing a product.
This software is a fake. Do not be fooled by this scam. Microsoft Security Essentials can be downloaded and used at no cost from http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/.

Just a few comments on Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE).
MSE is by far the best anti-virus that I know so far.
- It uses significantly less CPU resource. My last anti-virus was AVG. My laptop fan will run at full speed after 5 minutes. But with MSE, I never had this problem.
- Its one of the few safest antivirus (that does not affected by kernel hook attack).
- Passed Virus Bulletin test - August 09 and October 09, while AntiVir, Symantec, Kingsoft... and others failed.
So, if you have genuine Windows, and haven't installed MSE. I would encourage you to install :)

Paintball
Saw these paintball photos from Kelvin Fok's FB album, makes me wana go paintball some day. But probably not in Sg, so expensive - $50, compare to RM50 in JB. Haha.
The photos are well taken. The compositions, angles are just nice. The story that each photo is trying to convey is very clear.
Personally, I like the second photo the most :)
Notes:
