Control

Feeling...
just like joy,
just like fear,
just like sorrow,
just like reverence,
just like hate, and
just like love.

It arises spontaneously rather than through conscious effort.

I wonder how to control feeling... if only I can control my feelings...

  1. Hmm......when you ask of how one may control one's feeling, a word comes to light - "EQ" - or - "Emotional Intelligence Quotient"

Perhaps it may be of interest to explore more about the subject, as it's something of a constructive nature, the way I see it.

Anyway, on another side note, let me share something with you. From what I'd read from your post, I can safely deduced that you're aware of your feelings on the present NOW (at least, the NOW when you thought of writing it down here). That is the first step (assumming that you wish to have control over negatives feelings). Be mindful of the NOW (everything including your feelings).

The next step would be to, acknowledge what you feel (NOW, at this present moment). You got to accept what you're feeling to have control of it. Otherwise, it would seems like the feeling doesn't exist or it's not there, 'empty' (if you reject it). While doing this, perhaps you might be interested in getting to know more about this feeling (what does this feeling really feels like, what's on your mind when you're having this feeling etc...be an Observer of yourself), and maybe learn something new :)

And, the final step is to let go. To be in peace of mind. There're a lot of ways to do it. If say, you're creative, you can imagine that this awful feeling starts to compress into a ball above your palm, and you throw it away into a dustbin (for example). Or you can take a few deep breath, saying "I'm peace" / "I'm love" etc.. (all the positive emotions) with every in-breath...

Well, that's one way of controling feelings. There's more for you to explore. You CAN control your feelings. The possibilities is endless. Hope that NOW, you have some sense of directions in mind, that you can walk towards to (not in a literal sense btw) ;)
