- Bangladesh - founded a bank that lends only to the poor. In 30 years, it has changed the lives of 150 million people.
- Antarctica - no country can claim - a natural reserve devoted to peace and science.
- Governments - have acted to protect nearly 2% of territorial waters (not much, but 2 times more than 10 years ago).
- South Korea - national reforestation program restored the forest destroyed during war.
- Costa Rice - disarmed military, resources devoted on land conservation, education, ecotourism and protection of primary forest.
- Gabon - enforces selective logging - not more than 1 tree every hectare.
- Germany (Freiburg) - 5000 people live in first eco-friendly district (with solar houses).
- Mumbai - joined the eco-friendly concept.
- NZ, Iceland, Austria, Sweden - has made renewable resources their top priority.
- Denmark - prototype of coal-fired plant that release carbon into the soil.
- Iceland - Electricity plant powered by Earth's heat - Geothermal.
- Denmark - Wind power plant off coast - produces 20% of the country's electricity.
- USA, China, India, Germany, Spain - biggest investors in renewable energy.
- USA - Solar power plant at Mojave Desert
